SpringFest Wine & Art Festival, which I am a part of, is this coming weekend. I've already received two inquiries as to the pricing for the small paintings ("sketches") I've done; one of the two prospective customers is interested in all four of the color sketches.
Additionally, as a result of posting my last stint of artwork, I have also received a new commission.
The project is to illustrate the word, "Hero." My client is thinking of Roman centurions and knights, and tying that European antiquity into his personal career as ex-Air Force, current police officer.
Frankly, this commission sounds like a whole hell of a lot of fun to me. Moreover, this is the kind of subject matter that I need to focus on anyway as I haven't illustrated people in quite some time (I can't give you a reason why exactly; I just haven't been inclined). I will begin working on this new project after the Festival is over. In the meantime, at least one more version of the wine paintings will surface (the larger-sized painting of one of the sketches), possibly two if I can manage to churn out both in the time I have left.
I'm very ready to move on from working on the wine paintings, although I'm sure I will desire to paint glass again soon as it's an interesting surface. But first, let's get some testosterone flowing and paint brave men off to war, and all that.
